IMFSE - International Master of Science in Fire Safety Engineering

The “International Master of Science in Fire Safety Engineering" (IMFSE) is a two-year educational programme in the Erasmus Mundus framework. This master course is commonly organized by
  1. Ghent University (Belgium)
  2. Lund University (Sweden)
  3. University of Edinburgh (UK).
Erasmus Mundus-scholarships for non-European students are to be considered as full scholarships covering all necessary costs of the student during his/her study period in Europe.The total amount of the scholarship for two years is euro 48,000,which includes a contribution to the IMFSE programme costs of euro 8,000 per-year (tuition) also covers travel,accommodation and living costs.

REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelors degree or recognized equivalent degree from an accredited institution (minimum three-year full-time study) in civil/structural/mechanical/electrical/chemical/industrial engineering, material sciences, chemistry, physics, applied physics, architecture, urbanism and spatial planning or a related discipline. Students in their final year of such a Bachelor programme will however also be considered .Proficiency in the English language is a basic requirement. All applicants must therefore provide one of the following certificates a recent (maximum two-year old) TOEFL certificate with a minimum score of 92 (internet-based ),with at least 21 in listening and writing,22 in reading and 23 in speaking. The institution code for Ghent University is 2643;or a recent (maximum two years old) test report form (TRF) from IELTS, with a minimum score of 6.5 (with 6.0 in each section); or recent (maximum two years old) Cambridge-ESOL : Certificate in advanced English (CAE) Grade A, with a minimum grade of weak in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

AIIMS Post Graduation Entrance Examination

SEATS QUOTA IN MD/MS/DIPLOMA AND MDS COURSES IN MEDICAL & DENTAL COLLEGES
Applications are invited in the prescribed form through online mode for All India Post Graduate Medical/Dental Entrance Examination (AIPGMEE-2012) to be conducted by All India Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday, the 08th January, 2012 for admission under 50% seats quota in various Postgraduate (MD/MS/ Diploma & MDS) courses in Medical and Dental colleges in the country run by the Union of India, State Governments (except Government of Andhra Pradesh and J&K) and Municipal or other local authorities.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
(1) Only Indian nationals are eligible to apply.
 
(2) The candidate must posses MBBS/BDS degree from a recognized Medical/Dental College or a foreign degree included in the schedules to the Indian Medical Council Act,1956 and full registration either from the Medical/Dental Council of India or State Medical/Dental Council after completing the compulsary rotating internship.
 
(3)Candidates who have obtained MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are not eligible to apply. However, candidates who were nominated by the Government of India (Ministry of Health & Family Welfare/D.G.H.S., New Delhi) to do MBBS/BDS from Medical/Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are eligible to apply subject to submission of requisite documents specified in the Prospectus.
 
(4) The candidates should complete the required period of 12 months pre-registration internship from a recognized Hospital on or before 31st March, 2012.

University of Cincinnati - Global Scholarship

UC Global Scholarship

Reserved exclusively for UC's international undergraduate students, the University of Cincinnati is proud to administer the UC Global Scholarship.

Amounts

The UC Global Scholarship is a merit-based award with multiple levels.  Awards range from full tuition to $1,000 per year.  It is renewable for the duration of a bachelor’s degree program (up to 12 quarters of study or 216 quarter hours) and the most common award amount is $5,000 per year.  UC Blue Ash students may receive a maximum of $4,000 per year due to the reduced cost of tuition at UC Blue Ash.

Consideration

Eligibility for UC Global Scholarship Consideration

  • International students completing high school at a US or foreign high school.
  • International students entering UC directly from a foreign university. 
  • Permanent residents and US citizens entering the university directly from a foreign high school or university.
  • International students who have completed (or are completing) an associate’s degree from an accredited U.S. college
All complete applications to the University of Cincinnati are automatically considered for the UC Global Scholarship. Students should submit all application materials before the priority deadlines in order to receive maximum consideration.
International students studying in US high schools may instead be eligible for the Cincinnatus Scholarship Program. The UC Global Scholarship cannot be combined with the Cincinnatus Scholarship Program.

Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad, invites applications from candidates who are bonafide Indian citizens, to pursue research in modern biology leading to a Ph.D. Degree. The projects offered for Ph.D. would be in the broad areas of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Developmental Biology, Nanobiology, Plant Molecular Biology, Protein Structure and Function, Biology of Macromolecules, Biology of Infection, Epigenetics, Chromatin Biology and Bioinformatics.
Candidates who satisfy the following criteria only need apply:
  1. Candidates with a Master's degree in any branch of science or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Medicine or Pharmacy, having a valid National level fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies, e.g., CSIR, UGC, DBT, ICMR, etc.), DST-INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowship can apply. Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/pharamacy with GATE/GPAT qualification with a minimum of 85 percentile can also apply. Candidates whose final results are awaited but meet the fellowship qualifications may also apply.
  2. Candidates qualified only for lecturer-ship in CSIR-UGC (NET) examination or M.Sc. candidates qualified in GATE examination need not apply.
  3. Upper age limit is 28 years as on 10.12.2011 which is relaxable as per GoI rules for SC/ST/OBC/Women/Physically Handicapped candidates.

Written Test and Interview: All the applications will be screened and candidates found suitable will be called for written test to be held on 18.01.2012 at CCMB, Hyderabad. Candidates qualified in the written test will have to appear for interview on 19.01.2012 and 20.01.2012. Candidates selected in the interview will be asked to stay for discussions on 21.01.2012. Travelling Allowance is not payable by CCMB and candidates have to make their own arrangements for stay, etc., at Hyderabad.

Candidates who have qualified in CSIR-UGC NET Fellowship or ICMR-JRF or DBT-JRF or any other equivalent fellowship can also walk in on the day of the written test (18th January, 2012) at 7.30 AM into CCMB along with proof of their qualification for the respective fellowship.

Mere fulfilment of the minimum requirements stipulated in the notification would not automatically entail a person for selection. The decision of the Centre in this regard shall be final. Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification

The Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Rolls-Royce present this remarkable eleven week opportunity at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford that will enable scholars from India to explore innovation and science policy, from an academic, practical and personal perspective.

Science & Innovation Leadership Programme
The Programme offers an intense 11-week course at the prestigious Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. Programme Content

Each module will include lectures, workshops and discussions that focus on relevant ideas, institutions and introduce the group to experts and opinion leaders, together with a significant element of practice, including case studies, visits and projects.
A programme of external speakers, visits, project and events will ensure lively variety of engagement with UK institutions throughout, as well as properly diverse pedagogy.
